Instructional Aides/Teacher's Assistant are assigned to students who regularly need assistance to maintain appropriate and equitable participation in school. Aides assist students 1:1 or in group settings.
HOURLY RATE & AVAILABLE HOURS
* Starting at $17/hr depending on Contractor's qualifications, availability, and skills.
* Monday-Friday (7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* At the direction of the Teachers direction, help prepare, collect, and set-up materials for student participation
* Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical assistance to students individually or in small groups at the direction of the teacher to reinforce and follow-up instruction
* Assist with large group activities including reading aloud and storytelling
* Maintain daily activity logs for your assigned student(s)
* Alert regular teacher to any problems or special information about student(s)
* Serve as the chief source of information to substitute teachers assigned in the absence of the regular teacher
* Maintain the same high-level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers
* Operate and or assist in the use of student mobility devices such as, but not limited to, walkers, wheelchairs, braces, canes, etc.
* Assist students with self-care as assigned by teacher
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalence
* Minimum of six (6) months classroom experience or similar professional setting
* Minimum of six (6) months experience working with special education, autism, behavioral health, and other forms of special needs children and adult educational settings.
* Ability to complete and satisfactorily pass State Criminal Record Check, State Child Abuse and FBI checks
* Ability to obtain and present CPR and First Aid Certified
